Vertical System
FossilCrete Vertical Stamping System is a revolutionary, patent pending system that consists of a unique, lightweight, Vertical Stamp Mix along with specially designed tools and colorants. FossilCrete bonds to most surfaces, is water resistant, and unequalled in flexural and compressive strength. FossilCrete also carries the largest variety of natural fossil and animal track stamps in the world, along with reusable concrete counter edge, cantilever deck, and step forms.
FossilCrete provides the total package need for any project; commercial, residential, interior or exterior-FossilCrete easily transforms imagination into reality. Virtually any vertical surface, inside or out, is a good candidate for this new application It will change the way you view decorative concrete.
The System: Unlike concrete overlays on slabs, the FossilCrete Vertical Mix is a custom, light-weight concrete material that can be applied up to three inches thick and stamped within minutes after it is laid on. By using FossilCrete Vertical Mix with vertical Stamps, you can achieve the deep texture normally associated with decorative flatwork - on fences, interior or exterior walls, pillars, you name it.
Vertical Mix: FossilCrete’s lightweight concrete mix is engineered to adhere to wall board, plaster, dry wall, paneling, brick, stone or existing concrete. The other important component is the highly concentrated VertiBond polymer used for bond coat and to reconstitute Vertical Stamp Mix.
Application: FossilCrete Vertical Mix is best applied using a hawk and trowel. Unlike regular concrete, troweling the surface is not necessary or recommended. The mix is ready to stamp immediately after you lay it on. All necessary touch-up and detail work is performed the next day using carving tools.
Vertical Stamping: Stamping vertical surfaces calls for special stamps. Smaller in size with additional tools for stamping single rows and corners, FossilCrete Vertical Stamps offer the flexibilty necessary for stamping vertical surfaces, plus the aggresive texture and durability associated with floor stamps.
Coloring: Staining vertical surfaces requires a slight adaptation of common coloring applications. The preferred method is Natures Pallet stains.
Training: There are several different ways to learn more. Hands on training covering vertical stamping and staining techniques will be covered during The Stamp Store Deminar.
